Our story
Born from a shared refusal to look away
Nyota Foundations began when a group of Muslim and Christian neighbours in northern Nigeria watched families arrive with nothing after their villages were attacked. Instead of asking who should help, they simply started helping — together.
What started as food shared from a few kitchens has grown into an organised response: shelter, nutrition, trauma care and the slow, patient work of helping families return home and rebuild. We remain volunteer-rooted, community-led and answerable to the people we serve.
